Western Caribbean cruises from Mobile: Cozumel, Belize City and Roatán

Western Caribbean trips are a small part of the Mobile schedule: 6 of the 59 sailings we list, against 50 to the Bahamas. All are Carnival round trips from the Alabama Cruise Terminal. Most are Carnival Valor's 6-night trips to Cozumel and Belize City, which start in December 2027 and run only in the winter and spring.

On 4 November 2026 fares ran from $425 to $953 per person, for the cheapest cabin listed, with taxes and port fees included. The table at the end of this guide lists every sailing.

What Western Caribbean cruises leave from Mobile?

All on Carnival, in three lengths. Carnival Valor's 6-night trips call at Cozumel in Mexico and Belize City. Her 7-night trip adds Roatán in Honduras. Carnival Spirit's 9-night trip of March 2027, sold as a Carnival Journeys cruise, calls at Cozumel, Roatán, Grand Cayman and Montego Bay in Jamaica.

Across the whole schedule Cozumel is on 7 sailings and Belize City on 5. The Cozumel count includes Carnival Valor's 14-night Caribbean and Panama trip of September 2027, which stops there on its way home. Our Carnival Journeys guide covers that one and the other long voyages.

Carnival's itinerary pages call the Roatán stop Isla Tropicale. That is Carnival's destination on the island, which opened as Mahogany Bay in 2009. Carnival unveiled the Isla Tropicale logo and a new pool area there in May 2026. Cruisebound and the table on this page list it as Roatan.

What does a 6-night Western Caribbean cruise from Mobile look like?

One day at sea, Cozumel, Belize City, then two days at sea on the way home. The ship leaves Mobile at 3:30pm on a Sunday, spends Monday at sea, calls at Cozumel on Tuesday and Belize City on Wednesday, and is back in Mobile at 8am on Saturday. That is the same Sunday to Saturday shape as Mobile's 6-night Bahamas trips.

Two dates are worth a second look:

• 27 December 2027. This 6-night trip leaves on a Monday and returns on Sunday 2 January 2028. New Year's Eve is a day at sea, on the way back from Belize City.
• 20 November 2027. The 7-night trip covers Thanksgiving week. Thursday 25 November is the day in Cozumel.

What is the 9-night Western Caribbean cruise from Mobile?

Carnival Spirit's trip of Saturday 20 March 2027, her second-to-last departure from Mobile. Carnival sells it as a Carnival Journeys cruise. It calls at Cozumel, Roatán, Grand Cayman and Montego Bay and is back in Mobile at 8am on Monday 29 March. Spirit leaves again that afternoon on her 16-night Panama Canal voyage to Seattle.

Carnival announced the two together in July 2025 as back-to-back Carnival Journeys cruises. Times are as Cruisebound listed them on 4 November 2026, and Carnival's page shows the same.

On 4 November 2026 its fare was $953 per person, or $106 a night. It is the only Mobile sailing on our schedule that calls at Grand Cayman.

When do Western Caribbean cruises leave Mobile?

Only between November and April on our schedule: once in March 2027 on Carnival Spirit, then on Carnival Valor from November 2027 to April 2028, in between her Bahamas trips. The first is 20 March 2027 and the last 9 April 2028. Nothing on the Western Caribbean route leaves Mobile in the summer of 2027.

The National Hurricane Center gives the Atlantic hurricane season as 1 June to 30 November, with most activity between mid-August and mid-October. The 7-night trip of 20 November 2027 falls in the last days of the season. The others sail between December and April, outside it. What are Cozumel, Belize City and Roatán like?

Cozumel is a Mexican island Carnival recommends for snorkeling and diving. Belize City is the stop for Belize's barrier reef and Mayan ruins, and you reach it by tender boat. Roatán is an island off Honduras where Carnival has its own destination, Isla Tropicale.

Cozumel. Carnival says the island sits on a coral reef and points to snorkeling and diving, the beach at Chankanaab National Park and the nearby Mayan ruins.

Belize City. Carnival suggests snorkeling on what it calls the largest barrier reef in this hemisphere, cave tubing, and the Mayan ruins of Altun Ha, Cahal Pech and Lamanai. The Belize Tourism Board calls the city's Fort Street Tourism Village a tender port, about 15 minutes from ship to shore, and tells passengers who explore on their own to check the return times of their ship's tenders.

Roatán. When Carnival unveiled the Isla Tropicale logo in May 2026 it also opened Mangrove Bay, a new area with a pool, a swim-up bar, a children's splash pad and cabanas. Carnival lists two berths for its ships, 52 shops and artisan kiosks, three restaurants, four bars and a scenic chairlift.

Grand Cayman and Montego Bay. On the 9-night trip only. Carnival points to Seven Mile Beach, Stingray City and the shops and museums of George Town on Grand Cayman, and to the beaches and the Rose Hall house at Montego Bay.

How much does a Western Caribbean cruise from Mobile cost?

On 4 November 2026 the lowest Western Caribbean fare was $425 per person and the highest $953, for the cheapest cabin listed, with taxes and port fees included. The lowest worked out at $71 a night. Fares move often, so check the sailing you want.

The holiday sailing of 27 December 2027 is the one to price carefully, since it spans New Year. Our holiday cruises page lists the other Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year departures, and cheap cruises from Mobile has the lowest fares on every route. Do you need a passport for a Western Caribbean cruise from Mobile?

Not if you are a U.S. citizen, because every one of these trips starts and ends in Mobile. U.S. Customs and Border Protection says a closed-loop cruise, one that starts and ends at the same U.S. port and stays in the Western Hemisphere, can be taken with a government-issued photo ID and proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate.

Carnival accepts that pairing for U.S.-born citizens, and its documents page adds stricter rules for Colombia and Panama, which these trips do not visit. CBP warns that the countries a ship visits may still ask for a passport, and Carnival recommends a passport book for everyone. If you had to leave the ship in Mexico or Belize and fly home, you would need the passport book, because the passport card is not valid for flights outside the United States. Should you pick the Western Caribbean or the Bahamas from Mobile?

Pick the Western Caribbean if you want Mexico and Central America, and if your dates fall in one of the few weeks between November and April when it runs. Pick the Bahamas if you need a particular week or want a beach day at Celebration Key: those trips leave in most weeks of the year, and every one calls there.

The two 6-night trips are built the same way: Sunday to Saturday, two port days and three at sea. The difference is the ports, and the fact that Belize City means a tender ride while Celebration Key is a walk from the ship.
