Carnival Journeys are Carnival's longer cruises, 9 days or more, with extra onboard activities. The longest from Mobile on our schedule are Carnival Spirit's 16-night one-way voyage through the Panama Canal to Seattle on 29 March 2027, and Carnival Valor's 14-night round trips of 26 September 2027 and 16 January 2028. On 4 November 2026 they started at $931, $1,172 and $1,203 per person.

Carnival Journeys are Carnival's longer cruises, and they are the only way to sail from Mobile for two weeks or more. The longest on our schedule are a 16-night one-way voyage through the Panama Canal to Seattle and 14-night round trips on Carnival Valor that go much farther south than the usual Bahamas week. Each runs once on our schedule, on a single date.
All are Carnival sailings from the Alabama Cruise Terminal. Fares on 4 November 2026 were for the cheapest cabin listed, per person, with taxes and port fees included.
What are Carnival Journeys cruises?
Carnival's name for its longer voyages, 9 days or more. Carnival says they run from 9 to 22 days, with more time in each port, several days at sea and onboard programs that the regular trips do not have. Its itinerary pages describe Journeys as a limited series of special sailings on less-traveled routes.
Carnival groups the extra onboard activities under three names:
- Academy of Fun. Enrichment classes.
- Crew Connections. A behind-the-scenes look at life on the ship, with a question and answer session, a dance class and a deck party.
- Throwback Sea Day. A sea day themed on the 1980s, with films, trivia, bingo and a dance class.
Which Carnival Journeys cruises leave from Mobile?
Carnival Spirit's 16-night Panama Canal voyage, which is one-way to Seattle, and Carnival Valor's 14-night trips of September 2027 and January 2028, which start and end in Mobile. Carnival also sells Spirit's 9-night Western Caribbean trip of March 2027 as a Journeys cruise, and our Western Caribbean guide covers it.

What is the 16-night Panama Canal cruise from Mobile to Seattle?
Carnival Spirit's last departure from Mobile. She leaves at 4:30pm on Monday 29 March 2027, goes through the Panama Canal on day 6 and docks in Seattle at 7am on Wednesday 14 April 2027. It is one-way: the ship does not come back to Mobile, and neither do you, unless you book your own way home.
The route has 11 days at sea, three port calls and the canal day. Carnival announced it in July 2025 as a voyage with a full canal transit. Times are local, as Carnival and Cruisebound listed them on 4 November 2026, and Carnival can change them.
| Day | Date | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Monday 29 March 2027 | Leave Mobile, 4:30pm |
| 2 to 4 | 30 March to 1 April | At sea |
| 5 | Friday 2 April | Cartagena, Colombia, 7am to 3pm |
| 6 | Saturday 3 April | Panama Canal transit |
| 7 | Sunday 4 April | At sea |
| 8 | Monday 5 April | Puntarenas, Costa Rica, 7am to 4pm |
| 9 to 11 | 6 to 8 April | At sea |
| 12 | Friday 9 April | Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, 9am to 5pm |
| 13 to 16 | 10 to 13 April | At sea |
| 17 | Wednesday 14 April | Seattle, 7am |
Spirit is heading to Seattle for the summer. Carnival said in July 2025 that she would sail a 15-day Journeys voyage to Hawaii from Seattle on 14 April 2027, the day this trip arrives, and start 7-day Alaska cruises from Seattle on 29 April 2027. The same release paired this voyage with the 9-night Western Caribbean trip of 20 March 2027 as back-to-back Journeys cruises: that one returns to Mobile on the morning of 29 March.
On 4 November 2026 the fare was $931 per person, or $58 a night. A one-way flight home from Seattle comes on top of that, and we do not price flights.
What documents do you need for the one-way cruise to Seattle?
A passport. Because the cruise starts in Mobile and ends in Seattle, it is not a closed loop, and Carnival makes a passport book or passport card mandatory for cruises between two different U.S. ports, valid for at least six months after the trip ends. The birth certificate and photo ID that work on Mobile's round trips are not enough here.
The passport card has a limit worth knowing about. Carnival says it cannot be used for air travel outside the United States, and that a passport book is the only document that will get you home by air from abroad in an emergency. If you had to leave the ship in Colombia, Costa Rica or Mexico, the card would not get you on a flight home, so a passport book is the better choice for this trip. U.S. Customs and Border Protection's closed-loop rule covers only cruises that return to the port they left. Our cruise documents guide has the rest.
How do you get home from Seattle after the Panama Canal cruise?
By plane from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, unless you live in the Northwest. Carnival lists its Seattle terminal as the Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91, 2001 West Garfield Street, and sells transfers from the port to the airport on the day you leave the ship. Carnival says return flights on debarkation day must not leave before noon, and that the transfer can be bought up to two days before the sail date.
The ship docks at 7am on Wednesday 14 April 2027, so a flight at noon or later that day is the earliest Carnival allows with its transfer. Plan the rest around the fact that you started in Mobile:
- If you drove to Mobile, your car is still there. You need a flight back to Mobile, or nearby, to collect it, and parking for at least the 16 nights you are away. Check the terms with the parking operator before you leave a car that long. Our parking guide has the options at the terminal.
- If you flew to Mobile, book the outbound flight to Mobile and the return from Seattle as two one-way tickets, or an open-jaw ticket. Our airport guide covers flying into Mobile.
- If you live in the Northwest, this is a way to reach home by sea, but you still have to get to Mobile first.
What is the 14-night Caribbean and Panama cruise from Mobile?
Carnival Valor's round trip of 26 September 2027. It leaves Mobile at 4:30pm on a Sunday and is back at 8am two Sundays later, after seven ports: Ocho Rios in Jamaica, Aruba, Curaçao, Cartagena in Colombia, Colón in Panama, Limón in Costa Rica and Cozumel. Carnival's page lists Colón as a port day and shows no canal transit, so this trip calls at Colón without going through the canal.
Times are as Carnival and Cruisebound listed them on 4 November 2026.
| Day | Date | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sunday 26 September 2027 | Leave Mobile, 4:30pm |
| 2 and 3 | 27 and 28 September | At sea |
| 4 | Wednesday 29 September | Ocho Rios, Jamaica, 8am to 4pm |
| 5 | Thursday 30 September | At sea |
| 6 | Friday 1 October | Aruba, 9am to 10pm |
| 7 | Saturday 2 October | Curaçao, 8am to 5pm |
| 8 | Sunday 3 October | At sea |
| 9 | Monday 4 October | Cartagena, Colombia, 8am to 4pm |
| 10 | Tuesday 5 October | Colón, Panama, 9am to 6pm |
| 11 | Wednesday 6 October | Limón, Costa Rica, 7am to 3pm |
| 12 | Thursday 7 October | At sea |
| 13 | Friday 8 October | Cozumel, Mexico, 9am to 5pm |
| 14 | Saturday 9 October | At sea |
| 15 | Sunday 10 October | Mobile, 8am |
Bring a passport book on this one, even though it is a round trip. Carnival requires a passport book or card for cruises that call in Colombia, and a passport book to go ashore in Panama: guests sailing on any other document, the passport card included, must stay on board at Colón.
It also sails at the height of hurricane season. The National Hurricane Center gives the Atlantic season as 1 June to 30 November, with most activity between mid-August and mid-October and the peak on 10 September. On 4 November 2026 the fare was $1,172 per person, or $84 a night.
What is the 14-night Southern Caribbean Journeys cruise from Mobile?
Carnival Valor's round trip of 16 January 2028, which Carnival labels a Carnival Journeys cruise. It leaves at 4:30pm on a Sunday, calls at Celebration Key on day 3 and then at Amber Cove, San Juan, St. Thomas, Aruba, Curaçao and Montego Bay, and is back in Mobile at 8am two Sundays later.
Carnival's page for this sailing names the ports but not the days, so the times below are as Cruisebound listed them on 4 November 2026.
| Day | Date | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sunday 16 January 2028 | Leave Mobile, 4:30pm |
| 2 | Monday 17 January | At sea |
| 3 | Tuesday 18 January | Celebration Key, Bahamas, noon to 7pm |
| 4 | Wednesday 19 January | At sea |
| 5 | Thursday 20 January | Amber Cove, Dominican Republic, 8am to 4pm |
| 6 | Friday 21 January | San Juan, Puerto Rico, 10am to 6pm |
| 7 | Saturday 22 January | St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, 7am to 4pm |
| 8 | Sunday 23 January | At sea |
| 9 | Monday 24 January | Aruba, 9am to 10pm |
| 10 | Tuesday 25 January | Curaçao, 7am to 4pm |
| 11 | Wednesday 26 January | At sea |
| 12 | Thursday 27 January | Montego Bay, Jamaica, 8am to 4pm |
| 13 and 14 | 28 and 29 January | At sea |
| 15 | Sunday 30 January | Mobile, 8am |
It visits neither Colombia nor Panama, so Carnival's standard round-trip rules apply. U.S. Customs and Border Protection allows a government-issued photo ID with proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate on a cruise that starts and ends at the same U.S. port, and Carnival accepts that for U.S.-born citizens, though it recommends a passport book for everyone. On 4 November 2026 the fare was $1,203 per person, or $86 a night. The Southern Caribbean page has the sailing details.
Which Carnival Journeys cruise from Mobile should you pick?
Pick the 16-night voyage if you want to go through the Panama Canal itself, since it is the only Mobile sailing on our schedule that does. You pay for that with a one-way trip, a passport, a flight home from Seattle and 11 days at sea.
Pick one of the 14-night round trips if you want to come back to Mobile without booking a flight. The January Southern Caribbean trip sails outside hurricane season, and U.S.-born citizens can take it with a birth certificate and photo ID. The September Caribbean and Panama trip reaches Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica, but it needs a passport book and sails in the busiest stretch of the hurricane season.
If two weeks is more than you can take, Carnival's 9-night Journeys trip of March 2027 is the shortest of them, and the itineraries page lists every route from Mobile by length.
